What is the different between gated and ungated content?

The main difference between gated content and ungated content is that gated content brings new leads to your database.  Ungated content is considered to be more accessible and allows you to build a larger audience.  Do not try to gate everything because oftentimes you need to build up a large enough audience in order to generate leads.  Further, ungated content is more easily shared throughout the online community which can also lead to more traffic.

It depends on you and your website whether or not to put gated content on your page, and where exactly to put it.  It is important to find a balance of gated and ungated content and we suggest reading your audience and seeing what they respond to best.  It takes a bit of trial and error.  Possibly consider keeping the early content ungated, while content with more substance can be placed behind a gate.

What is the proper amount of syndication needed to improve conversion rates?

There is no proper amount of syndication needed, although syndication is a tactic used to build your audience and gain their trust.  Companies on a budget may not have the resources to pay for media that will increase leads.  For these companies, we suggest syndicating your content out to other areas your customers are likely to traffic.  Getting to know your brand and your message away from your site will increase trust and comfortability.

What is the most important aspect in measuring success in regard to different marketing strategies?

Marketing has become so important in creating a successful business that it is no longer considered “sales support.”  Marketing is now considered to be one of the most important factors in determining revenue-generation and overall operations.  In order to measure the success of marketing, you must consider all of the leads marketing contributes to, such as new site visitors, leads generates, and revenue generated.
