Some things that are successful online may not cross over when in a physical store with face to face interactions. The internet has different expectations and requires less personal engagement, all while keeping the customer engaged and satisfied.

Here are some things that physical brick and mortar businesses can learn from businesses in the online world. Having a presence both on and offline can lead to a very successful long term business, but keep in mind that not everything works the same way in both worlds.

One important thing to consider that has made the online world of business so successful is the rate at which people get things done. There are no lines, mobs of people, or traffic to sit in to get to where you are going. It is easy-to-use and anything you want is a click away. You must be fast. If a customer thinks something will take too long, they will drop you in an instant. You must also give the customer what they want. When a store offers too many options, customers might feel overwhelmed and may leave to consider what your competitor is offering. Make sure your physical store runs as smoothly as your online website.

Online businesses have had great success with the use of testimonials, and the same can be applied for an offline store. Utilize your existing clients that keep returning for your service or product. Give them an incentive to spread the word to their friends and family. You can give them some sort of discount or bonus each time they bring in a new referral. This strategy has had a very high rate of success in online and offline shops.

Aside from tutorials, stores that are located online and offline should make sure they are engaging their customers and finding out what it is they are looking for and expecting from your company. Always listen to visitors and test products and see how people respond to changes you are making within your company.
